The title should be
Totte´s Megaswitch 2.2 for when you need to have 20 to 1000 inputs all at once in one single component that is much better than Map switch, see below explained why I say this. Tottes Megawitch original source thread In 2010 Totte created this awesome tool that is really very useful and helpful when you need more than 10 or 12 inputs. And later Rachel Duim modified and simplified it to make it much simpler and easier to use. Below you can download a 20, 50 or 100 input version of this Megaswitch ( I made myself the 50 and 100 input) This below is the original filter that was made with 20 inputs with some notes I have made to be able to use it This shown here is for FF 10 but the original one on the link above is for lower versions megaswitch 2.2 20 input.ffxml |

Here is the 50 input version I have made myself ready to use (all the input are green ones)
It includes and updated and more extensive (than in the 20 input version) notes that I have made to be able to use it and to know how to increase or reduce the amount of inputs when needed. This is for FF 10 megaswitch 2.2 50 input.ffxml |

Fr om my point of view I think this Megaswitch is great and amazing tool for making better filters easier and better.
The best example I can give for using this Megaswitch is the excelent Arial TD Font Snippet by ThreeDee wh ere it uses this to make a switch for the 27 letters available and renaming each one of the input with the letter name and would be a mess without this megaswitch Why I say that Megaswitch is much better than Map script when you need over 10 or 12 inputs? Because of these 4 reasons 1 - It has according to the test I have done In this other thread here it will give better randomization results with less repeated values 2 - It is cleaner and easier to connect components as you only have just one only component and do not need to do any nested switchs when needed (see the example given in the 50 input version with 6 map switch) 3 - You can have more inputs as you may need in a single component and do not have to worry about if you have over 10 or 12 and you can easily add more. Also you can customize how many you need exactly. 4 - You can change the name of the input to the name you want and customize it to make reference of what is connected to it, so you can make a reminder of the group of components that may be attached to it. For example, Circle result, square result, triangle result, or any other thing you may need or want. There is no way to change the name of any of the FF default components input FILTER FORGE DEFAULT SWITCH COMPONENTS LIMITED TO 10 or 12 INPUT Inside Filter Forge editor there are 1 - The Switch components that has 12 input green slots and a selector 2 - Map Switch component with 10 input green slots and a selector with a max source option and a Mode for randomization that was made to be used with bomber plus BUT what if you need to have MORE than either 12 or 10 inputs ? Well you can connect multiple 12 switchs together or multiple Map switchs, but the result is not always good and maybe it can make things more difficult MEGASWITCH COMPONENT FOR ANY AMOUNT OF INPUTS IN JUST ONE COMPONENT Welcome to the awesome and amazing Megaswitch 2.2 that was done by Totte and then modified and simplified by Rachel Duim The beauty of this Map script tool is that you can have ANY AMOUNT of inputs you may need without any lim it and it will simplify and make easier and cleaner the work for you when you need more than 12 or 10 inputs and may give better results BETTER RANDOMIZATION RESULTS FOR BOMBER PLUS You can add up to any amount of components to any of the inputs that are green related This can be mainly used for being used for using with bomber plus that only has one input and use the bomber randomizer slave on the Selector connection I have tested and verified (please, see the link on the point 1 here in this post) that this Megaswitch has much better results for randomization items in the bomber plus than the 10 Map switch component, because it really randomize it very well because it has MORE amount of inputs ALL AT ONCE so all the items has the same opportunity to be selected by the randomizer, this does not happen in the Map Switch that is limited to only 10 and you need to connect another Map switch if you need more than 10, but then randomization is made worse with mulltiple map switchs. It can be used also with normal bomber but in this case the selector must be used manually done with a slider |
