Hello, I may have discovered something that may be interesting and useful for using bomber plus with more than 10 input in a better way.
I have the 27 slots Map Script made by Threedee (fr om the Megaswitch by Totte) and using the result with bomber plus and a randomizer gives really much better results regarding the correct random distribution of the nearby letters than using 3 Map switch linked together to simulate the 27 slot mapswitch 27 SLOT MAP SCRIPT VERSION Here is the example showing the Map Script version wh ere only once are repeated two letters ( see the KK blue square) that are nearby and there is much more variety of letters and with better random distribution and looks better ![]() |

26 SLOTS OR NODES MADE OF 3 MAP SWITCH LINKED TO ANOTHER MAP SWITCH
The only difference I have made in this is that it uses the Map switch combination and using the map Switch Mode 3 option As you can see here the letters are more repeated, and the bigger problem is that there are much more nearby repeated letters, as seen on the blue squares. ![]() |

And you can test it yourself and see how this has been built and all the settings and values here
I have made already presets for you to test it Preset 1 - Map Script in post 1 Preset 3 - Map Switch with Mode 3 as in post 2 above here Preset 2 - Map Switch with Mode 2 Preset 4 - Map Switch with Mode 4 Preset 7 - Map Script with more rows to see better the difference Preset 8 - Map Switch 27 Map Script VS 27 Map Switch.ffxml |

I do not know if I am using wrongly the map switch and the randomizers or is that the mapswitch does not work as expected in the same way as the mapscript?
I am asking this because if is true that the map script is much better, then it should be used instead of the Map Switch combination if you are going to use more than 10 input in bomber plus I have made the comparison as similar as possible using all exactly same settings, values and components, have used the same randomizer, and the only change is that the way the letters are being sent to the bomber plus. Can the bomber be modified with some additional components that could give better results either in Map switch or Map Script? Sorry that I do not what is the difference between the 4 available modes of the Map Switch mode differences as seen in the quote below So I wonder how does the Map Switch works when it is nested and linked together? so the final question is Is really Map script of 27 slot much better than 3 Map Switch linked ? what do you think?

You should use a different randomizer (and variation) for each switch selector. That'll fix it.
Right now you're only generating one random value per particle and using that for every switch, so they all select the same source number. |

Thanks, but I have already done it, and I can show here that fr om my tests, it does not fix it, maybe you can tell what may be happening and possibly suggest another thing Sorry I did not explain it before When I started to make the comparison I already had 4 randomizers ( 1 for each Map switch) and another one apart for the map script of the mega switch, but I was not getting good results, so later I have thought to just use one randomizer so it keeps all the same settings and values and so the comparison can be made correctly although I may have done it wrong, so here below is the original first filter. Here below is the filter that uses 5 randomizers wh ere each one has different variation value and has also some different shade value between min and max 1 Randomizer for each Map switch and another one apart for the map script of the mega switch but from the test seen and presets shown, still the megaswitch mapscript is giving better results than the map switch combination and there is much less repeated nearby letters and more variety in the distribution, and I prefer much the map script megaswitch result than the one from the map switch The filter is made for FF 9 27 Map Script VS 27 Map Switch 3 randomizars.ffxml |

As I have done in the first post, here is the example that shows the one made by the Megaswitch map script that has NO nearby repeated letters horizontally, and even not vertically either.
I have counted and tested that all the 26 letters at least appears once in the table and there is much variety This is the Preset 1 of the above filter ![]() |

This is using the 4 Map Switch ( 3 for the 26 letters and 1 to join the 3) using different variation values as seen in the filter above
I have counted and tested that in this other example NOT at all the 26 letters at least appears once because the A J R S T U V W Y Z are not available in the table as seen in the example above, and in the table and there NOT as much variety as in the above one. This is preset 3 of the filter that uses the Map Switch mode 3 ![]() |

This is preset 4 of the filter that uses the Map Switch mode 4
This also shows lots of missing letters as in the above and there is much repeated letters and seems that most of them are only from O to Z How can not all the letters be shown as it happens in the mapscript example? Why the Map Switch randomizers do not randomize all the possible values? ![]() |

And if you think that Map Switch mode 2 may solve this, is wrong, because is almost similarly to the above other 2 examples that have many missing letters and have many repeated ones
so then unless there is something wrong in what I have done, and there is something that needs to be fixed, it is clearly that the Megaswitch Mapscript wins for sure in giving the best results for using and showing all the letters at least once almost with NO repeated nearby letters either horizontally and even vertically and giving a great variety that looks good and well done random ![]() |

Oh yeah, you also have to take into consideration how the map switch rounds the selector values. Otherwise the distribution won't be perfectly even. This depends on the rounding mode (round to nearest, round down, round up). Basically you have to adjust the randomizer output range (according to the rounding mode) so that it gets divided equally by the switch. For example, to get an even distribution (with 10 sources), you could set the rounding mode to floor and set the randomizer output range to 0,0 - 1,1. Or to be precise, the formula would be something like:
minimum = 0 maximum = 1+1/(source_count-1) So yeah, the map switches do work correctly, once the math is right. The map script works equally well and is easier to set up. |

Yes, you are right, and I know this, but do not know which one is the one that will select ALL the values as it happens automatically with the map switch by default and not just part of them. Pleae, do you know why the continous mode 1 does not work as it makes doubles images?
Thanks very much for explaining it, and now thanks I understand it better and is good to know and will try to configure the Map Switch and see how it works, although do not understand why the mode 1 continous fails |
