repeating pattern filter attached and screen shot

hello all. hopefully i'll have enough information in the two attachments for some guidance.

in the screen shot, starting at the top row, i'm showing a pattern of rows of:

white-thick
white-thick
red-thin
red-thin
white-thick
white-thick
white-thick
red-thin
red-thin

i would like to do:

white-thick
white-thick
red-thin
white-thick
red-thin
(repeating this)

red is supposed to be exactly one-half the thickness of the white. i'm thinking there is something with the tile repeat and the gradient repeat and offsets. but i can't quite get it.
