I had a question about using bit-mapped components before loops. If I understand correctly, a bit-mapped component that feeds into a loop would become part of the loop. For example, if you have a Threshold in a Loop that referrences a Blur, that link breaks the Loop, right?

A pity, if so, since you can use a Threshold that way to cut down on the need for Blurs with relatively similar radii. Combined with a Loop, you cloud create some interesting gradient blending of edges--softening or sharpening them.

The answer to the topic title is yes!

You CANNOT have a bitmap component (blur, high pass, median, etc.) along the chain between Accumulated and Loop, or between any of the other slave components (Position, Iteration, Randomizer) and Loop.

The program will let you know when something is not allowed.

Good to know. I had a feeling that was the case, but I couldn't be sure just reading the help topic. It's amazingly hard to parse!

Thanks, Indigo!
