Here is what I did :

- I took a Map Switch.
- I connected the Selector with an Image, choosing our lifesaver.
- Then I put all Sources to transparent.
This way the Map Switch would not show anything, just an empty area.
I wanted to see, precisely what happened connecting only one of the Sources.

I added a Stones ( only black and white colors selection ) to test the Map Switch.
This was the set :

My question is : why do other colors appears when I connect Stones with a Source?

They aren't in the original image and they aren't in Stones.

Is there a way to select what color will appear?

Not correctly speaking, is it like every Source represents a range of color?

You must have set all the sources just to alpha 0% without changing the color.
Meaning the color's there but it's just transparent.

As the image transitions from transparent to opaque the transparency value also increases, therefore you see the colors come seeping back in.

I.e. the colors that show are those above and below the source you are plugging in. If you plug the stones to source input 8, colors from 7 and 9 are introduced into the mix.

Well, I think this is not a silly question considering that as far as I know there is NO instructions manual and no guide about how to use the new map switch and bomber+

Thanks Skybase, ThreeDee, SpaceRay.

Yes, it is true, changing Source not only to alpha 0%, but also to white or black, there is no other color appearing.
But... new question.
Something must be selected on the source: white, gray, black......
As you can see in my picture, I tried to connect the same Image, the same Blocks component, with two Map Switch.
The settings of the two Map Switch are all the same, except that in the first, after making all the Sources alpha 0% I selected Black and in the second White.
As you can see, the result is completely different.
Then the question is, what should be selected, for having the source using the connected component without changing it?

Yeah same story, the neutral colors are seeping through and being displayed as the map switch goes through interpolating between all the colors and then to the stones map. The results look different but the behavior is the same of course.

And why we must GUESS, experiment a lot, and try by trial and error, and try to understand a new feature, when FF team could have been able to EXPLAIN how it works and what can be done and how combine it with other components in a good and right way, and how to upgrade the already knowdledge from old bomber to the new bomber+

i think is silly that when releasing a new version of software, user have to Guess how to use it

Connect the same input image (stones in this case) via a Set Alpha component, new alpha at 0 (fully transparent), to the above and below source slots.
