Checking my filters, especially the old ones, I found a lot things that I would like to change. Some are clear mistakes (example : some filters don't work well with non squared images) that I did the beginning, because I had not enough knowledge of FF components settings. Others are small things that could make the filters work better (like updating the components and adding more precise settings).
Then..... many updates are coming soon.

The old filter only worked with circumferences.
I will try to make it work with polygons, giving also the chance to rotate them.

The base is done and it already works using hexagons.
There is still something to do to adapt it to other polygons, as you can see in the image below.

Wow! This looks very good and amazing the result of how much tight is done the arrangement WITHOUT overlapping !

Seeing it, it gives me the idea that it could be used maybe for including inside each hexagon an image with alpha (using transparent background) and so this way it could be done a tight packing of non overlapping images distribution.

These are some examples I had already put and suggested some years ago although be aware that they are made in Photoshop and NOT in FF

And although these 2 uses the same image, what would be really awesome and amazing is to be able to use multiples alpha images in the same way as these 2 examples

Thanks SpaceRay. Yes, it is surely possible to put images inside the hexagons.
The problem of my idea is that it uses pre-definite patterns. Then, as you can see, the total look doesn't give a random feeling.

Hey guys just want to say a HUGE Thank You to ALL filter creators! If I were younger and a bit more inclined smile:ff: smile:ff: I would make some too,/but all the program coding I did in my early working days and then a little later just before starting my family I did a heap of study at college.Enough to put me off doing them ever again!@ I acquired an old robot that is controlled via BASIC and a TURTLE LOGO. Cant even be bothered with these simple programs. BUT I really do appreciate all your efforts! Thank you!

Yes, I agree, Thanks heaps to the filter creators!

I'm totally amazed how Ramlyn has created 324 Filters so far...!
There is 1 filter in particular I cannot ever get enough of, that is Temaki Uzumaki.
It is so ingenious and creative that I use it every day to create something new smile:)
Would there be any way you could expand or create a filter along the same lines?

No. I am into design of images now. Just retired from songwriting. I am still recovering from a serious illness so these days just plod along.. potter around!

I love the feeling of getting excited when I see new filters... and play around with them. sometimes I will go looking for low usage filters and see if I can come up with a variance so different form the original yet a useful texture.

After all - Filter Creators NEED a Fan Base!!!!!

are you a designer?

Feel free to use any of my filters, modify them as you want, and repost them in your name. I always like to see new ideas.

No, I'm not a designer. Or at least not a professional. I only do some design as hobby.

I have a shopify store and also a shop on a design marketplace. I did have some training at university, but it was not my major.

With today's design and editing programs it is so much easier to translate thoughts into designs.

I love Affinity programs. Cheaper and easier than another well known brand. I worked hard to ensure Filter Forge was able to be used as a plug in in Affinity Designer. I introduced the companies to each other. So now many more people use Filter Forge!

I shall dig out some filters of yours and show you what I have created..It will be a while so feel free to remind me!

WOW! Awesome, this looks great, tight dots 3D tunnel effect perfectly done, and what I like more is the combination of red and white circles in such good way.

Seeing it I wonder if it could be posible to replace the dots with transparent background circular images, for example have the FF lifesaver and the FF Ladybug instead of the dots.

If this above is not possible, I could suggest then that the red and white dots could be filled with images, so you could texture them.

Thanks SpaceRay!! smile:D smile:D smile:D

The filter doesn't use a Bomber, so there are no particles. Adding two images instead of a color would simply split the two images among all circles.

But, with some modification, I think it is possible to get the result you want.
Ok. I try to do it just now. Let's see.

It would be even possible using up to 22 different images. But I guess it may make the filter too complex to use.
