Thanks for offering those. I'm amazed at how few components were needed in the mossy growth filter to get all that cool texture

Yeah, these two are very simplistic. Basically just one noise acting upon another in some way. I always liked to start from something very simple and efficient when building filters...

The "Nazghul Rags" I really like. It can't be that simple, can it? Made well before the smudge and the lookup components, I'm stumped! Some sort of offset magic I suppose.

2 Worley noises, 1 Offset, 1 Noise Distortion. ![]() Might submit the Nazghul Rags under my Noise Lab series of filters soonish. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;) |

Stretched solid fill cells offset. Tricky wizzard!

Interesting Pattern Generators anybody?
Makes super complicated lace like patterns by iterating the same thing several times. A very simple fractal-like pattern creation. [Technical Notes] Much of what you see here is what Squideey did with the filter "Fractal Generator" http://filterforge.com/filters/12028.html . I simplified much of it, got rid of otherwise in just to produce flat textures based on checkers. The loop here basically goes through iterations of lookups manipulated by profile curves in which the offset parameter is randomized per iteration. There's also a rotate component that's randomized leading to all sorts of unique patterns. There's basically no way of telling what specific pattern will appear, but given the source shape, it's easy to predict what it will look like. Do note that predictability is a measure of quality when it comes to filter development, you just want to make sure what your filter outputs results in something anybody can understand. ![]() |

It has Beautiful results! This one is really good for seeing how loops work in a simple and clear way. Thanks Skybase!

#2> As you probably know I put most of my textures in the snippets section. As for the rest I add color and what not and upload them to various sections.
