There's a Wiki page for Filter Forge. Always handy stuff to just know.
There's also help. But more importantly there are a ton of filters that are well worth looking into! So try browsing the Filter Library and check out ones you like. See how people are constructing stuff and try them your self.  I kinda learn like that....
