Hi. I would like to see a filter capable of this. (And it's alpha.)
Varying shades of green, path or no path. Big Rivers. etc.
Thank you.

shldnt be too tough. take a stones or cells or one of those types and add some color and then bump map it for the details of the paths. you could even extract the paths from the stones through threshholding.
If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Also, do you know the uniform strokes trick? It's how you get nice consistent outlines of things. Check out this this snippet: http://www.filterforge.com/filters/4722.html

That's awesome CorvusCroax !! I use Vue 6, and I was trying make distribution maps for it.
I haven't tried to make a filter from Filter Forge yet.
This is very close. Is it hard to make filters? I've read some tutorials, but I don't get it.

Hey, I use Vue6, too! Check out some of my vue + FF stuff: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...4&TID=5530 Look for the pictures on the 2nd or 3rd page for some good examples of some nifty vue materials using offsets.

Is it easy? I'd say it's less complicated and more intutitive than Vue's materials editor. smile;) It took me a few days of floundering before I felt like I got a grip on it. The great thing is that you can just download filters other people make, open them up and see how they did it. (It's like a tinker's paradise.)

But if you just want to make distribution maps for mixed materials in vue, then you don't need anything nearly this complicated.

I was messing with this some more and came up w/ this:
(this is turning out kind of cool, I think I'll submit this one.)

Hi CorvusCroax. That filter is looking great!!!!
And the other page was great too. I didn't Vue could do that.
Have you tried to sell anything on http://www.cornucopia3d.com/ ??
Maybe pictures from this filter or others like it, would sell.

No, not really. You just e-mail them, telling them what you want to sell. It's pretty easy.

OK, the filter is submitted to the library. I think it still needs some work, but it's probably good enough for now. If I were to spend more time on this, I'd figure out a better way to do the roads.

It's kind of slow (b/c of all the blending), but you really need to let it render out at full anti-aliasing.

Hi CorvusCroax !!
Yours came out great that looks really awesome.
I have made one too, but yours came out a lot better.
I am still learning FF, but you're right, it is much easier to learn than Vue 6's function editor
