Dude, you've got a bunch of cool psychedelic color photo filters. I think you should give textures a try! I looked through your whole library and didn't see a single filter that didn't require a source image
I thought I hit pay-dirt with the first three but looked closer and realized they too used a source!
I'd love to see what you could come up with.

just un-plug the 'image' components and re-submit them as your own. you'd have 160+ texture filters in no time If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

I have been bugging him about that too. He said he likes to have something for the colors to play with. @ronviers

----Well, come on now, a LOT of a good texture is not just the shapes (which alone can take hours or days to make), but the blending of the shapes and/or colors, plus the surface control parameters. Textures are sometimes tougher than they get credit for, I'd say it's every bit as tough to make a good texture with FF, a really good and unique one, than it is to make a really good image input filter. That said, what works for one kind of filter, rarely has much crossover value to the other kind from my experience. While I'm sure Stevie is capable of making some cool textures, you most likely couldn't just unplug the image component and add say a Techno component and have it instantly be a good texture (at least not any more than you could do that for most image input filters, mine most definitely included, as I know they wouldn't translate all that well without a ton of tweaks having tried doing it before). But yeah, +1 for Stevie to do some textures, why not, if he wants to, by all means.

Thanx for sentiments like I said, you are all a great bunch of people and it has been a pleasure to come to know you all!!!
So you have discovered that all my filters are external image effects.....I was wondering when someone would catch on to that
I actually do have alot of unsubmitted texture filters for personal use.....mostly extreme modifications of existing filters.....but I do have a couple of neat original texture projects on the back burner that I will try to submit soon Steve

people can always render out an image from one filter, and use it as the base image in another filter.
There's probably way to do this with math nodes too, combine them and come up with a new combined filter, but I'm not there yet in FF
(In genetica you can do just that)
Melting snow on the roof anyone?
Roof texture by Mike Blackney, rendered out, then put through "sands of time" filter.

how about this one It has the actual filter nodes combined together into a single filter. Takes forever to render, since it's so complex, but I love the way it looks

One more sample... it can be dirt and sand too (like the original sands filter intended it to be)

yup, combining filters is one of the strengths of FF. that's what ths snippets are for also. they are sort of preset filters one can use to obtain a certain effect. just plug them into any filter (in the right location) and that effect is instantly incorporated into your filter. one of my monster/beast filters is little more than a blantant rip of several other filters combined with my own color extraction filter to create a multitude of effects. fun stuff If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Now that you mention it, I see it. I bet if it's made green and the sand grain turned way up, it would look mossy.
Hey, Ahimsa, since you're here, I wanted to check if you got my emails from a week or two ago. I got too busy to reply right away, then I got worried that I got you upset for ignoring you. Of course, if you're busy or not in the mood (arrgh, that doesn't sound right, but I can't think of a better phrase), I don't mean to make you feel obligated
Hope things are well

I got your emails and replied. I will send you a new email in awhile. Baby is on his way over and I will be busy snuggling for a bit.
PS...seems I will be able to after all. I just needed to get used to having a baby here 5 days and nights a week. I feel like I'm a Mom again instead of just a Grandmom.

Ah, then it's my bad, I never got your replies
(I suspected that may be the case. Even my junk mail has been low in volume lately... that's just wrong)
Anyway, take your time No hurry on this end!

Maybe I should email you from Gmail? AOL seems to be getting nastier. My main email address is destroyed along with over 100 emails with attachments.
I need that CP link again. I should have bookmarked it.

Try that with a lighter color tile like the teal one. I think you got the moss color really good.
