I feel like I might already know the answers to this, but it's always good to get a second opinion.

If I've created a preset on a filter that does not have seamless tiling ticked, to then tick the box, the filter changes all of the positioning of the seamless components as you would expect. However sometimes it makes the filter looks much different and undesirable to how it was originally. I would like to know if it is actually possible to maybe reposition those components back to where they were, or close to how it was before the box was ticked?

Does that make sense?

Or alternatively, is there a way to lock one of the seamless components to not tile, whilst allowing others to tile?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

It's not possible on a component-to-component basis. Some things like perlin noise will always change appearance when you check seamless tiling.
