This filter has two modes, selectable using the ‘± or +-‘ checkbox. In the ‘±’ mode the filter range fr om negative to positive. This is useful for sculpting package that have a raytrace option for calculating displacement distances from the lim it surface. Notice that as much of the surface is being pushed as is being pulled.

In the ‘+-‘ mode the filter uses values that range in either the positive or negative direction.

For ‘height’ values more than one, be sure to disable the hdr clipping in the Filter>AA settings.
