HAHAHA! I know right?!
I think this is partially due to the fact that one of the most common and easiest to follow tutorials for FF is the "Wet rocks" texture tutorial.  I admit that rocks were not my first, but rather my second filter designed.
On another note, judging fr om your name, (GameForger) you are into game asset creation? With respect to that, I am a game asset dev myself! I'm kind of self-taught hobby indie game developer with a 2d graphics fetish (nostalgic)and no business experience at all. 
Started some stuff with a friend but never finished anything (yet) We used some basic dialect to write games (I know BASIC???) ^^ and still do but I'm moving on to CONSTRUCT (like Gamemaker) so we could finaly FINISH some stuff 
I'm into shaders and stuff now, thats how I came to FF. I like to teach my Pc to make Games for me if you will  Right now, "He" is learning to do Graphics with FF:D
"He" can make Spaceships now, it's so cool I used to do them myself with this Photoshop trick aaaand now "He" is generating them! (They look better each time. don't they?) Maker one
