With your rusty subfloor and roofing method you may be able to make some nice buttons ........ there are just not many nice grungy buttons out there

less formal shapes for buttons is a good idea in its self ......... here is a quick example [ by just throwing a simple shape around your sub floor ] I'm not suggesting this is the final result, only the possibilties of your metal methods being exploited into buttons
ps.
the slopyness of the sample, doesn't really show the idea in the best light but hopefully you get the gist
