Thanks. smile:) Yeah, it's not too bad, long as you do not compare it to the real thing.

As I use FF to make textures for my hobby (RPG battle maps), this is a perfect dried river bed.

RPG battle maps

Do you have any posted online? I would like to see them. You know, ff has an art gallery for things like that.

Btw, I used to be a gamer, and rpg was my favorite, but I enjoyed them too much and had to quit. smile:cry:

I started with Dungeon Master on the AtariST. smile:D
Thanks for the link, I will take a look.
If you use any of my textures, please let me know. I really enjoy seeing what people do with them.

I downloaded Pillars of Light, and had a look around. Wow! That looks like a lot of fun to play - and what a rich creative outlet to work in. Did you do all that yourself? I bet that took a lot of time.
You're going to have a lot of fun with Filter Forge.

Yeah, that took a while, I think 18 months from first draft until it was play tested, but the play test also took two sessions with a month or two between them. We're all grown ups now, with families, so getting game time is not that easy.

I first drafted it for DnD 3.5 but when 4E came out (June 08), I found that much better suited for it. I have been asking my son for some rules stuff (he got time enough to read all books over and over), but the trick was to ask them very neutral so I didn't spoil anything.

The reason most of my FF stuff is so "fantasy map oriented" is just because thats where I need the stuff.

I'm afraid my computer is too slow to compete smile:( - even this one was a pain. It would have been nice to run it through itself once more, to give the cracks some cracks, but it was just too slow.

Fwiw, I submitted an update to this that allows for the range of the cracks to be distributed across the entire image. That seemed to make more sense in a cracked mud filter. I also changed the makeup of the interior of the cracks - it seemed a little boring in there - not now, it is very exciting in there now. smile:)

Are you working on another 18month level again? Btw, how long does it take to play a session?

We played The Pillars of Light in two 8-10 hour sessions.
Some others are much faster. I'm working on two that are almost done for play test, and have another three in the pipe (and no, I dont have much free time, just fun time ... ), as this is all done for fun.

Oh I don't think it's any slower than mine. smile;) As for the filter, it's approx. 1.5 times slower than the one posted in my thread, but I do think yours is better quality.

(but if I make a pie filter, any of ron's donuts will be useless, no matter how many boston creams or strawberry glazed he spins out!) smile;)

Ok! The latest version has posted. Don't forget to delete your local copy, force your browser to refresh and insert the nanotated disk into the time tube.

Since the lead preset for 'Lake Bed' is the same as before, here is sample two – if you do not have this as sample two then you have the old copy.

And that was before I made the interior of my cracks so exciting. smile:cry:

Thanks Craig. smile:) It was a lot of fun to make. I got an hu over on Monday and that always gets me fired up about ff, so I had to do something. I thought I would have the only dried mud filter in the gallery but when I searched I found several - go figure. It got more downloads the first day than any that I remember - who would have though ff users would love dried mud soo much. smile:|

hehe, yeah, i'm frequently surprised by such things, but this one does deserve it.

i've got a cracked mud, too, but it's quite a bit different. it's on more of an angled view rather than top down. i'll post a pic later, maybe.

This has to be one of the geekiest forums on the web. Not many places you can find people that not only enjoy a good dried mud filter but actually have one of their own. smile:D smile:loveff:
