Wow!!!! I know Filter Forge has its reasons for picking and not picking EP but wow! I would make this EP in a minute if I had the power... but then again if I had the power I would have a lot cooler chair. smile:D

Best carpet I've seen. That's a hard look to nail down and you got it.

Its a shame it is a surface filter though... The normal map isn't doing a whole lot which makes me think you can get this to work with just a diffuse map. (I.e. probably would speed it up a lot)

It is true, take out the height map and it looks the same, faster = editor's pick maybe? smile:)

Thanks for the comments on my filter. I tend to make pattern files as it is easier for me to scale the pattern in Photoshop to match the image so I didn't really notice the render time.

The 2D version looks a tad noisy to me. I think I can smooth that out with just a touch of blur. How does this look?

Note: It has been made into a Photoshop pattern and scaled to 59% in Photoshop but other than that nothing else has been done to it.

I'll also need to readjust the presets as they are a little darker without the lightning filter's influence.

As a contrast, same image and filter without the blur component added.

I don't think you can really see the noise at the size I posted but I'll leave up anyway.

Here's a link to a larger version of the image split/comparison between 2D version of the filter with blur vs without blur component added:

Wow, the blurred looks so much better! Still, I am amazed this isn't EP! Pixel8ted this is a great filter!

Yeah, I'm thinking 2d with a touch of blur.

This filter is about as close as I'm going to get to a new carpet until my kids are older. smile:)

I just uploaded the update to make it a 2d filter. I went with the 2d with touch of blur. smile:)
