genie, you could maybe mix that with one of the flame filters and you'd have a pretty good 'dark mistress' image there smile:)

These and many more public domain photos can be found on this site. ROYALTY FREE

The small photos are the original and the larger ones are the ones run threw Carl's filter. My favorite ones are the seahorse (I think this is suitable for framing) and the cross (it gave such a deep feeling to the picture). Great filter Carl.

Awww thank you. smile:blush:

Carl, I don't know why this filter hasn't gone HU. I used it on all kind of photos and it gave great atmosphere to them all. Even the black and white sketches look awesome with this filter applied. Maybe these examples will show how versatile this filter really is. smile;) The first picture I posted is of a guy writing weather forecasts on a chalk board for heaven sake. But your filter focused all the energy on the man, not what he was doing. It changed the entire mood of that photo. (Mardar now scratching her head wondering why life is so strange.) smile:D Have a good one Carl. smile;)

Can't get quotes to work anymore. Any way " I don't know why this filter hasn't gone HU " - The original filter [ FF 1 ] to be quite frank was a bit lame and never worked the way I wanted it to [ check out Film Type 10 for the original look ]. This FF 3 version is hugly expanded, and totally redesigned with a variety of film types, filmframe, aging etc - giving far supior results and far more usabililty. Whether something that is low can come back fr om the dead is yet to be seen. smile:)

A side note: I noticed that you mentioned that the images that you've [ rightly ] used are copyright free for non-commercial use, there are many scources available for c/f pics. I personnelly use either copyright free or my own pics. It is disappointing to see a slew of copyrighted images being used in the forum of late, not only is it morally corrupt to ignore others copyrights, it is illegal and can lead to legal action against the posters and FF [ which with in there own guidelines for forum use is not to use copyrighted material without consent, but as there is obvious breeches that they have not policed they are also liable ]. Harmless some may say, but wh ere do you draw the line, if it's acceptable to ignore the owners right in this way, what isn't acceptable to the forum members who use others work without the rights to do so.

Attached is another sample > preset 2 > projector glow on 8 > scratches off ........ one of my own pics

LOVE really much the look and effect of this filter and how can transform a simple photo into something very beautiful and elegant

AND this is without making any change to the settings, only the first default preset.

Well, I have told above that I used the first default WITHOUT changing any preset and is true, BUT I have unchecked the frame option as it is not working right in this one as you can see here below, and also unchecked also the lines scratches.

And also you can combine filters, I mean that first you can render the it using this great filter and the resulting image filter again with another filter.

For example I made this below first with this filter and then after I have used this as source for the great and lovely crackles from Crackle Snippet by Indigo Ray

This shows even more age to the photo smile:)

Thinking on the above photo, perhaps as the Crackle effect is a snippet, I want to suggest if you want and like it that you could put this crackles INSIDE you wonderful filter and so it would be even more awesome giving it a more aged and old look.

Carl, I agree there's some problematic issues with using copyrighted work without concent. It's something that is troubling artists all over the world these days, with the internet being the internet smile;)

I don't know exactly who came uup with this "law" or how legal this really is, but In most places it's considered your own work if you change the original enough. The question is, what's enough means...

Morgantao, please do a Google search on copyright laws. You will find they are real laws and they are taken very seriously. Changing someones original design whether slightly or not and claiming it as your own is a serious offense. I know this because I have shut down several thieves on Ebay for doing just that to images on my website and then profiting off my hard work. You really need to enlighten yourself on this issue. It is very important. smile;)

Carl your photo is beautiful of the dove. Thank you also for expanding the conversation about copyright laws. I think this has been ignored for to long on the forum too. smile:love:

FOR COMMENTING ON THE COPYRIGHT TOPIC

I have made another interesting and useful thread to take this out from the Film Noir comments filter page

This is a really HUGE topic and involves LOTS of things, and think that it deserves it´s own thread. Please for more information about this look at the second post.

It would be good to make your comment in that other thread.

Thanks

Carl love your last two photos. I'm fond of birds myself. And cats and fish and trees and even those small brightly colored bugs. LOL well you get the picture. smile:D

The picture of the little girl looks like you can almost see her swaying to the music. The fish are awesome. Is that one of your own photos? I can't tell what kind of fish they are but they are a great subject. smile;)

Mardar I agree all creatures and plants are fantastic and beautiful in their own ways and the rare things free for everyone to enjoy. smile:) ...... yep pics are mine, not sure what type of fish, the shot was taken at a eccentric place in the middle of nowhere Queensland, where a mad spaniard built around the 1900's a strange cross between a villa and a castle and scattered buildings amongst the rainforrest, he also built his own hydra plant running the power ........ unfortunatly the place has decayed and hit by floods several times, trying to remember the name of the place.

Carl you're not boring me in the least. Your pictures and story behind them is fascinating. What a lovely place this must be. Even in decay it looks gorgeous. And the added mystic of a mad Spaniard building it would add to the joy of the visit. My hubby and I love these kind of places. We hit every museum, forest, and old historic building we have time and money to get to. We haven't the resources to travel very far fr om home, but sometimes your own back yard can be a wonderful place if you take the time to really look. There is beauty every wh ere if you slow down and just enjoy. Thanks for sharing. smile:love:

My partner and I try to go somewhere every Saturday or Sunday if only for a picnic somewhere close. And travel when we can afford it, which isn't often enough, trekked through Vietnam and Cambodia [ fantastic places and people ] last year with a friend and hopefully at the end of the year will get over to Turkey with my partner this time smile:)
