Excellent examples -- especially the labirynth. Downloading it to see how it works on other non-circular images.

Nice one!!! smile8) smile8) smile8)

Humble plebian suggestion..... smile:D maybe a variant of this that converts a selection area to shape.....then fill background without distortion. I'm wondering if that can be done with two selection commands.....one for the shape.....and one for the background fill??? Very interesting to say the least..... smile8)

Red, excellent application!!!

Yes, this is a great filter, and gives very good and interesting results !! I had forgot about it. Thanks Photocomix for remember me of this

This is really wonderful and great to make cubic oranges smile:D or change circle clocks into other shapes.

Here is a preview with the new window built-in image in FF 3.0

And for converting round objects into other shapes that would take very much work otherwise and with this great filter is done instantly !!

Here is an example attached

I have been busy studying botanic and genetical modification of fruits to make them grow in different shapes, and finally after 3 years of caring and having many test plants I have got my first succesful results

I have got kiwis that are not round, now they are square !!! smile:D

Yes smile;) smile:D

I did not know who was Gary Gigax until I searched it on Google smile:D as I do not play any kind of role games.

Gygax has been as described as the father of Dungeons & Dragons

But then I thought that if I enlarge the space where the plants have for the fruits (the fruits are in special cages in the part of the growing) it would work.

AND YES the results are great !

The secret behind this is that I have enlarged the original canvas size from 1000 to 1500 pixels (although would be better 1600) and so the triangles ends are not being cut and is shown on full and complete size.

smile:D No, Sorry this was already "invented" by nature itself smile:D and also if I wanted I could not find a "way" of shapifying the fruit into a star like this because ICAN´T have the option to make a STAR shape (hint, hint to uberzev ) smile:D and so it would not be possible.

My fruit project was to convert already available fruits into new shapes, so perhaps I could sell them to Japan and get some good money, I have seen that SQUARE watermelons can be sold for 83$ each one!! as you can see in this other thread --> Do you like and have seen SQUARE watermelons ? Not the ones by Uberzev

I have also converted myself a round watermelon into square in my garden experiments smile;) smile:D

Also thinking of new innovations and how could I help to the cooker chef in the kitchen I am also have some chickens in my own laboratory modified genetically to put square eggs !

You can´t stand up a egg and they can roll easily, so I wanted also to make square eggs that could stand well on table and do not roll, so give the welcome to the square eggs

I just remembered about this filter when I have seen that there is also Hyperbolic square images and I had forgot about and is a really gem and beauty to have this that works so good as shown here

TILING CIRCULAR THINGS INTO SQUARE SHAPES FOR 3D TEXTURES

I have also though that now that FF 9 has PBR and there are some filters that have circular shapes, it could be useful to change them into square so they could be used for tiling in 3D and for textures need to be square.

MODIFY THE RESULT FROM OTHER FF FILTERS TO MAKE DIFFERENT SHAPES

There is already available the Kaleidoscope filter that will modify the result of any filter, and I think that this could be used also as an additional component to modify and deform the possible result of any filter, and make it available optionally if the FF user may want

SQUARE FRUIT AND VEGETABLES

As I have already put above, one of the things that can be useful this filter is to convert spherical or circular fruit into Square or triangular

For example have square or triangular oranges, lemons, tomatoes, pepper, onions, melon, etc.

For example the famous real Square Watermelon that is being sold in Japan

Do you like and have seen real SQUARE watermelons ? Not the ones by Uberzev

HYPERBOLIC SQUARE

And now I will try to make square hyperbolic with this one and will see how it works, I mean that what I want is to be able to get something like it is shown below from the FF hyperbolic filter

He! He! Square watermelons are surely curious and original. They are easy to handle not only when you close them in the refrigerator, as they say in the article, but also when you cut them. Anyway the taste is the same as normal watermelons. smile:D
