Looks very good, but the normal map (surface height) is overblown. | |||

What would you suggest? Tune down the 'surface height' for all the presets? Or some internal modifications to the height map? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;)

I tried lowering the Surface Height, but it also lowers the contrast between the wood fibers, making the texture less interesting. So it seems that it would require some additional work. | |||

If the final blend component before the height input were removed, the contrast would stay more stable for a wide range of surface heights. However, for very small values you'd still lose that contrast. And, as always, the lighting also affects this contrast. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;)

Hey, I think the relief is perfect on this this one.....but something like "Fiber Board" might be a better name for it ....J/K..... Nice one!!! Steve

Yeah, I've had my doubts about the filter name too, but I was too lazy to come up with something different. Any suggestions? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;)

Interesting......I always considered panels made from pressed/glued wood chips to be chipboard.....with the chips having different tones and random placement.....
Don't like "Fiberboard", eh??? Steve

I'm thinking about it. "Chipboard" doesn't quite cut it, so there'll be a name change eventually. What about 'Wooden Fiberboard'? --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;)

That sounds good. Either way, I don't think the name is going to have much effect on its' usage.....they'll find it Steve

Alright, the update is in and the normal map/relief contrast 'issue' should be resolved. --- Crapadilla says: "Damn you, stupid redundant feature requests!" ;)

Way cool ... there's a Brazilian construction material made out of the fibers from sugarcane bagasse that looks a lot like this.
And this is also a lot like what classic papyrus looks like.
