Pretty! Another beautiful filter from jffe. Nice job of selecting presets - I especially like the first four. Nice work jffe. smile:)

----Thanks. smile:) It's more Tone Curve abuse, which I'm almost done with for now ha-ha, but you can get some weird stuff going on with that module. My presets are always random, then tweaked to the nearest 16th decimal value usually, I likes me some stable increments, although I coulda gone with a 10 scale since I am in the states and that's how we do stuff, well, cept our archaic weights and measures eh. smile:p Anyways, thanks for the bump, I don't need any more HU filters really, but it's always nice for them to get noticed a little, especially ones with colorful presets ha-ha. smile:)

I like your textures - I think you have a knack for them. When you do get tired of the TC I vote for more jffe textures. smile:)

BTW, I wish I could open this one up and look inside - I would like to take a closer look at how you got the effect.

I hear you. It would be great to be able to throw hardware at that. With just $8000 you could get a killer render box today – less really. I used to not bat an eye at spending twice that for a server.
A big part of it is being familiar enough with FF to exploit its strengths - which you are. smile:)

----I made $5700 last year, yeah, year ha-ha smile:p I'll keep making do with my old P4 2400 machine, and my humble gig of ram. I do specifically try and make fast rendering filters though, for myself, and because I can't imagine anyone wouldn't want a filter to always be faster anyways, no matter what kind of machine they have to work on ha-ha. smile:)

----Well, I quit my day jawb in the middle of last July, it wasn't paying enough (I was a contract delivery driver and finally really did the math, I was making around $3.25-$3.50 an hour after expenses, and a rash of necessary car repairs, averaged out over the 8 1/2 months I'd worked that gig). And since I had a couple grand left over from my last attemtped retirement ha-ha, I didn't work anywhere else in 2006.

----That's not too far off, but yeah, retirement = still a big joke unfortunately. I cashed out my 401K stock this January, to avoid working this year. Someday I may very well end up back out there, but next time I'll be sure to get my whole $6.00 an hour after taxes ha-ha. smile:D

It doesn’t hurt but I would trade it for a background in art. I wish I would have had the wisdom to pursue art instead of technology but I bought in to the notion early that science was more valuable way to spend my time. This, even though I had an obvious knack for art from an early age and no aptitude whatsoever for math and science – it has all been forced. Oh well, live and learn. At least I’m finally doing what I want to. smile:D smile:D smile:D

Art luckily is something you can jump into at any time and with a knowledge of technology the two marry together beautifully - and you either got it or you ain't got the artist eye [ you have ]........... the fact your doing now what you want is sweet succes.... but where on earth do you have no radio reception [ hopeful I've remembered right from something you wrote a while back ]

Well, let me clarify. By no reception I mean I can get one Clearchannel station – which is some kind of pop mix. And there are two country stations. It would surprise me if the three taken together would play one song per week that I would enjoy. There is a sports radio station but I only care about golf and I like to *play* golf not listen to it or watch it. So I don’t tune in to any of them – ever. Besides I have a decent CD collection from when I was making money – and I don’t burn out on Sara McLachlan or Antonin Dvorak. smile:D

Do you have access to a lot of good radio?

I don't listen to radio much, when I do I can't stand ads and I prefer alternative music to pop so I listen Tripple J a government station but like you I prefer listening to cds

Let's see, walking distance in Australia, that's about 350 miles? smile;)

I haven't got to play in years. I'm going to pick it back up again when I get back on my feet back to a major metropolitan area. I was never any good but I loved to play. smile:)

----I would, but the since the corporations took over numerica here, they rarely pay more than min wage. It doesn't help that I live in the highest min wage paying state. I'd bet fully 1/2 of the places in this city don't pay over $1 above min wage (currently $7.75 I think, not sure, haven't worked for min wage since 2005).

----Aww, only some kittens are hellish, the hyper active clawing ones ha-ha smile:p I just wanted to post a few sample pics for some of my older filters, see which ones maybe need updates. I've purposely stopped flooding the library with every half *ssed filter I make, and would rather just have a small collection of decent ones in the end ya know. Thanks for looking though, and for the bump. smile;)
