Very nice filter, Rawn!
Made some quick tests to set up a material in Maxwell, based on your RAW Leather filter. Tried to make a worn/aged leater: ![]() ![]() |

That looks very cool, thanx for showing.
Forgive my ignorance, but what is "Maxwell" some render engine? Rawn |

very interesting.
How do you convert the filters from here into materials there? Is it simply an outputted render that is plugged in somehow? Rawn |

rawn, looks pretty good.
one thing, though. raw leather is just that, raw. lots of little hairs and texture. yours look more like treated leather or scraped leather, where most all of the 3d texture has been removed. i'd also love to see some more variety in the texture/surface. 'leather' refers to a whole batch of animal hides in various stages of treatment. cow hide, horse hide, etc, etc. and leather is treated in a lot of different ways. there's a rough look, a smooth look, dyed, polished (highly scraped), worn (though i do see you have an 'aged' look in there), and lots of other ways. so, a bit of expansion on this would be most welcome. 'leather' is a very popular look, so anything you can do to give folks more variety here would be great. you might do an image search on google to see what i mean about the variety of looks. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Marvelous old leather texture. Reminds me of a saddle my uncle had with avout 300,000 miles on it.

I notice if you render a diffuse image with seamless tiling, it generates an edge, thus isnt seamless.
Is that an accurate observation? Cheers AaronC EDIT: 'gah its the edging slider, d'oh! Nevermind ![]() |
