It's definitely got that textile look nailed down quite well. Nice work, ahimsa!

BTW, I think you forgot to add the checkbox control to allow for the selection of the image mode.

ronviers, actually this one can be saved as a png as is. It will make great sweater textures for Poser models with the skin showing through the transparent areas like a real knit sweater of this type.

Thanks Crapadilla. I was going from experience. I used to do that type of embroidery. smile:)

No, it's ok. It actually makes it do the transparency that way. Weird, isn't it? It seems there is more than one way to get the transparent backgrounds. That was the one taught to me by Zephos (sp?) weeks ago.

I don't think it would be a good one to do over a photo. When you make a texture for a Poser model or outfit you make a map and take it into a 2D program and "paint" the texture onto the map. Then for something like this you would make a transparancy map and since the png leaves all the transparent areas transparent, those areas will be completely black on the transparancy map.

I don't get it, are you saying the switch plays a role in the filter? BTW, I think the scrapbookers would appreciate a knockout to image background selector - but then again I'm really not sure what you have going on now. smile:|

I could do that, but yes, somehow it makes it possible to save with a transparent background. If you have PS or PSP save one of these as a png and then bring it there and use the wand to lift it and you will see that it only lifts the design and not just a big square.

I'll put the switch thing in and resubmit it. I think I'll add a way to add the background too. I didn't think about that when I made it as I was seeing it more as being used to make clothes for Vicky, Steph, and Aiko. smile:D

I don't know ahimsa, I don't think I know what I'm talking about. I think I should have kept my mouth shut about it. To be honest I really don't know how most of these filters are used and therefore not a good person to be listening to. smile:?:

No, don't do that! I just have to find out how to do it.

However, since scrapbookers do use PS and/or PSP they will just use the texture like a tube over any background they like, maybe even use a mask. smile:D

I have no idea, just picked her up over at www.PDPhoto.org and had her sit for me a bit so I could frame her smile:D

Nope, no problems at all, in fact some manipulating with the size allows them to become somewhat transparent and I like that addition effect!

The new look is pretty basic, so I'm afraid I'll have to revoke the Editor's Pick.

The original default preset was still there. I didn't change the filter at all. I changed the order of the presets hoping more people would use it so maybe the bloody thing would go HU. I changed it back, not to get the EP back, but so no one will be offended.

As for the NE56...my adding my user name offended some people around here so I put some intials and a number there that would keep all my filters together in my program library as I don't like having them in that My Filter area because I have ruined a number of my filters that way and I feel stupid redownloading my filters over and over because I screwed them up. I'm legally blind so I mess up.

Funny, have one preset first instead of 6th and it's EP, switch the order and suddenly the filter is considered worthless. It's the same exact filter with absolutely no changes except for the order that the presets are displayed. smile:D

Not worthless, but unimpressive. An Editor's Pick must show something cool, otherwise it is a waste of precious real estate on the Filter Library homepage. In this particular case, you can simply submit an update with a good-looking default preset, and I'll put the Editor's Pick back.

Makes sense.....not just a good filter, but one that has a lead preset with appeal promotional value......now if only I could get the quality of my filters to be as good as my lead presets look smile;) smile:D LOL.....

I don't want to get too technical here but I think the Prime Directive would be; "There can be no interference with the internal presets of successful filters."

FFFleet's General Order #1 would apply to any filter that has achieved post EP Status.
