Awesome snippet, I just used it to update my "unda-da-sea" filter.

Thank you.
FWIW there is an alternate, and far shorter, method that you can find discussed in this thread: http://www.filterforge.com/forum/read...0&TID=2752 I have not played around with it enough to be sure it allows for the same control or if there is a performance hit but I thought I would mention it. Also there is no snippet for it so I do not know the etiquette for using it but I wanted to point it out in case it would be more appropriate for your filter. You have a beautiful gallery of filters by the way. @ronviers |

I am quite content with how your snippet worked, I think it punched up the effect I had 100%. Rawn |

Very clever the way you offset that I have jsut allways used a refraction but the way I do it renders much slower
Very usefull indeed lets all whine for a wine port |

i would think that using the snippet 'any angle rotate' here might also have some use in this one.

Thanks Voldemort – there may be other places this technique of flipping the curve halfway will eliminate some refractions. I will keep an eye of for them.
Hi Kraellin. It turns out that it is exceptionally easy to add rotate – just a slider. I should have added it but I didn’t think of it. I will submit an update. Thanks for the suggestion. Here is the modified version. I hope this is what you were talking about. Reposition Rays v1.1.ffxml @ronviers |

okay after one update you might want to punch me in the mouth for saying this but one other addition might be to use a curve switch to illustrate the different effects curves can have on the effect

Hi voldemort,
Thanks for the suggestion but I want to be sure I understand what you mean. Before I resubmit this would you take a look to see if this is what you are talking about and if the implementation is acceptable? I tried adding a switch for selecting a curve adjustment slider but it looked confusing and intimidating so I took it out.

Yes that was what I was talking about I added a few more components to illustrate the strength of your creation

It’s great!
I could play with it for hours.
Do you it might be a little confusing or intimidating for novice forgers? Maybe I should submit it as a demo to support the simple one. What do you think? If I submit it as a demo I could even add some color. The problem with that is I am not very good yet at adding color - usually I just blend with a color control. ![]() @ronviers |

interesting alterations. i like the cooperation and exchange here
i added one other little option, a 'final opacity' and 'final mode' so that one could blend with the original if desired. am also including a rendition of steve's cup here... 'picasso's cup' ![]() If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

Nice job Kraellin. It reminds me that the 'Stretch by Corners' filter is just a scaled back version of 'Reposition Rays'. If we added some low frequency noise the rays could easily be made to look like a wavy flag or banner fastened at one end by two corners.

Kraellin and voldemort – I finally submitted the update and I gave you guys credit for the new section but I put it in the ‘New it this update’ section and it does not show up. This was my first shot at updates and I didn’t realize that information would not be presented. Don’t worry I will resubmit with recognition placed in the description tonight.

I got a chance to play around with this for the first time since the new section was added by Kraellin and voldemort - and I have to say - this filter is *fun*. For anyone that has not tried the new release - give this new one a try - play with it for just fifteen minutes, it will generate a ton of ideas - be sure to try the mode selection with the curves.
