Hey thanks! I almost didn’t post it because i considered it a miserable failure – it was supposed to do so much more. It works well for what little it does but I assumed that there were plenty of other filters that did the same thing. I am extremely proud, and a little stunned, that it may be of use to FF users. smile:D

I think you would be shocked if you look at the other snippets that attempt to do this none figured out how to properly combine the croping and the scaleing together into one smooth control

That is so. cool. And the structure isn't terribly complicated, either. Wow! Well done! I can see myself using this snippet a lot in the future... smile:D

Hi ron I'm using the zoom part of your snippet in my latest filter which was perfect for enhancing the functionality of my filter so just another little thanks and a bit of a bummer this won't show up in your usage which isn't really fair smile:(

I cut out 3 or 4 compenents and used them to just rotate something 90* once, it was a time saver. smile;)

Excellent! I love it when people use my snippets.

I don't mind. I didn't get a chance to participate in the forums as much as I wanted so maybe the snippets kind-of make up for it.

As much as I would like to take credit for that jffe I think you mean byRo and Uberzev - but that's not bad company to get mixed up with.

Thank you Carl and jffe!

Hmm, yeah, I guess the one I canabalized was from quasimodo. I tried using part of your crop/resize/move snippet once, it just didn't work for reasons that may have been my own fault ha-ha smile:D I was trying to do a frame, the move it forward 1/3, so I could then bubble the alpha pic out/forward, and have it look like an 80's fisheye video camera lense.

Geev man your only a couple of hundred post short of jffe and me and jffe been here since they invented computors and by the way jffe what about an avatar, it's the closest thing we've got here to seeing someones soul, the choice of image says a lot about personality - after ron mentioned that my avatar scared the pajeebles out of him along with Big Scary Floating Head I decided I must change my avatar to a nice Fluffy Bunny smile:D

Thank you Carl. smile:D

It *is* possible for a snippet to go HU. Take a look at this one:

http://www.filterforge.com/filters/701.html
byRo really earned it with that one.

There are so many filters that do what this one does it is hard for it to stand out.

Someday when you get some time check out my 'Speedy Edge' and 'Power Edge' snippets to see how I used it to find edges - I don't think anyone else is doing it that way. smile:)

Just a note about this update; I have removed several redundant components and arranged the remaining ones so it is easier to copy only what is needed without having to do any rearranging. It is about a third faster but it never was all that slow. There is still an unnecessary alpha component but I left it in for clarity and for ease of copying just the reduce section. smile:)

Happy to do it – few things are more satisfying than people making use of my snippets.
Glad to see you back on line. Did you get things ironed out with Dell? How has their support been? I just had a bad experience with Wacom support. Fortunately for them I love my tablet so much I would happily buy another one.

Now with non-square support. smile:) I will release it separately because it is considerably slower.
