I dont know why the page on this filter is showing the iris with such a blur, when it should be showing some nice clear spokes like this:

hmm, you've got the design done well, but i see one problem; the iris looks too receeded into the eye. so, the end effect is like having a lifesaver candy set over a ball or something. the iris shld follow the curve of the eye and not receed at its edges. If wishes were horses... there'd be a whole lot of horse crap to clean up!

The outer ring on the iris can be controlled as to how dark it is, and that will affect its percieved depth into the eye

Most likely, this is caused by the JPEG compression. Since the previews are rendered automatically without human intervention, we can't fine-tune the compression level for each picture individually.

I have updated this filter to give a much nicer looking iris.
I also simplified some of the controls, but also added new controllers for the iris modification, so that kind of balanced out the simplifying LOL

Ok...this is more than an update to this filter, it is a complete rebuilding of it from scratch.
The previous one was made out of components of other filters (before I really understood the inner workings of FF), and it never really did what I wanted it to anyway.
This one is designed for texture artists to use in ways that texture artists would need.
There is no added shines or bevels to the texture, because that comes with the final rendering of the actual object the texture is applied to.
This one also has the ability to render out the seperate elements (iris, eyewhite, etc) on a transparent background, so that it can be easily manipulated into position on a texture map.
I hope that this will make this filter infinatly more useful.
