Probably bad form to post on my own filter as the first comment, but would anyone mind helping me get this filter a bit more flexible? It'd be nice to get it able to render double-wide results.
Also I think I have the first meander filter. Which is a bit odd actually considering how popular/old/simple the design is. |

I've attached a version of your filter which works for double wide, for instance 1200x600 (File->New). I've changed the front end (square line design) to Default anchors, the back end to Image Bounds anchors. I've added a Bomber for the square line design, which then repeats the square line design for wide images.
Note that this does NOT work for tall images. You will need to redesign your filter so that all the design elements (including Tiles) are fed to a Bomber, using Default anchors in all cases. The Bomber will deal with differences between height and width. Hope this makes sense. You might want to clean up your filter a bit, it was hard to follow with nodes overlapping and often not left to right. UPDATE: this new version still does not fix all of the design elements, but the information I've given you should allow you to fix the various issues still existing with my tweaking of your filter. Thank you, good references and better ways to do things are invaluable. I really appreciate the help.

Rachel,I wonder if your double-wide technique can be applied in polar-to-rectangular remapping (Spherize)?
I'll see if I have a snip you can try it on (or you could use Planetary Noise)... |

No, I don't think so. The Bomber is a particle sprayer, which works well for repeating patterns like Meander and Mosaic that can be designed as a square, then sprayed into the grid (the Repeat parameter) that is defined by the Bomber.
2nd: we are now way off topic. Funktasm: you might want to contact support and have them move this thread to the Creating Filters with a new topic name, which seems a lot more appropriate. Math meets art meets psychedelia. |
