As a snippet it was intended for those who want to tinker a bit, so color controls was clutter imho. The main thing was to demonstrably unify perspective movement and uv mapping, shading, etc.
I think that was for ensuring a continuous transition at all angles. Certain heights or pitches caused a glitch in the gradient. The height needs to be readjusted at the upper range, but I'm finished for now trying to fix all the numbers. This is definitely a WIP snippet. This is something that could have been posted in the forum to be worked on, but having had only 5 filters published, well you know... _____________________________________________________

I'm particularly pleased with the ability to sit down in the terrain, but it does need some polishing as seen on the tops and the uneven bending in the elevation gradient:

Swap the image in for the checker and change the repeat on the gradients to 1:

Sorry for asking a side question but i've been wanting to ask it for a while. How do you take a screenshot of the filter editor?

Thanx Indigo Ray! Found the tool and your right,it works great. I've had windows 7 for about 2 years and I still haven't bothered looking over the fine points to see what the program does.
