Well, if we want to be sincere.....

The beginning FF started with simple components.
Then more complex components came.
Now, what components like bomber or smudge can do is what the first period could be done only with a whole filter.
Clearly nobody would think that we "copy" anything if we use these components in our filters.
And nobody of us would simply apply one component without changing anything.

We can think the same thing when we use a filter ( or part of a filter ) of another author.
We don't simply copy it and post it in the library. It would silly and meaningless.
Instead use that filter to create something new and we share it with all other users.

Yes, I know that, if the filter gets a lot of downloads, we may even win a copy of FF. But that's would only confirm that our idea was good and the people liked it.

So, don't worry when you use something that other people did as base for your filter. The important thing is that you add something really new.
