Interesting filter.
An idea to develop it could be splitting every sector in more parts, like in this picture : ![]() |

Cool and well done filter, like it
Well done the outlines added to each part This remembers me the other similar filter made awesomely by uberzev called Zoom Shatter Although this one is different than uberzev´s filter, as it work in a different way, and the zoom is more real, and do it in a different way, less than a shatter, keeps the center untouched, has blur and disortions added, so is a well done and good displacement effect, I like to see this filter as an good alternative and like it much too
Yes, this could be a great idea to be able to split more each sector in more parts ------------------------------- Like how you can customize the how much of the center is untouched and how much blur you want for slices that go into the center ![]() |

All the above examples have the slices straight but you have the option also to bend the slices, here for example I am using 16 slices with Swirl slider with a 69 value to make a spiral like effect
Be aware that the Swirl with a 50 value is the total straight so you have to go above or below 50 to bend them to either side ![]() |

And all the above examples I have put are using a Zoom value between 50 to 100 so that the slices fill all the viewable space until reaching the external border
Here I have done one with low zoom values (here is 11) so the slices are kept just outside of the flower shape And using the outlines in black, and as the background is also black you can´t see the ones that are there but mixed with the background same color ![]() |

Very interesting examples Thanks SpaceRay.
Today I made a new filter based on the idea to split a photo like the first picture that I posted. It is composed of 5 circular areas that can be independently split in sectors ( this way every area can have a different number of sectors ), rotated, deformed, blurred. I also added some black backgrounds below every area that, if faded, may give a shadow or 3D look to the image. I firstly made a simple filter, then a surface filter. I'm going to post one or two versions tonight. |
