This filter is capable of so many things .... Ghislaine's first preset makes it look like a simple image distorter, but it does so much more .... It is great for creating backgrounds and abstracting images ...... Really good job Ghislaine

To really get a feel for this filter you have to punch the "Next Variation" lots of times to see all the possibilites .... All these example use the same image to start with, a tile made with JE Strange's Tech Sketch filter. I added some color before and on this one upped the saturation a bit. This makes a perfect background.

This looks like some kind of modern art to me. So much texture and pattern. If you look at it for awhile you might think you see faces or figures in it's small detail, and that was done with randomness. All four made with the same starting image ... Amazing ..... I did have to lighten this and saturate it some again.(I wish all filters had a satuaration node ... oh, I've said that before) Ghislaine .... Cool filter. I still have a bunch of exploring to do.

Really neat how you can get such totaly different results from the same image!
If I just saw these images without the info I would have never guessed they were all the same source image. Very nice filter Ghislaine, and very good examples Gene! ![]() |

Thanks Morgantao and Gene. Glad you like this filter that I was not sure to upload.
The first preset does not gives credit to this filter. but playing with the settings and different or same images, this filter produces good surprises. Love your example Gene. ![]() Here an example. Ghislaine ... I must admit I don't have your filter figured out real well yet. I can't get images like yours above. I lose control of the image and they get too distorted. But I do like distorted .... This is my cartoon head guy again in three different layers in Photoshop. Bottom layer with a v2 distortion, the guy in the middle layer, and a grayscale version of the bottom darkened over the whole thing. Everything is all embossed texture ... Just like I like it.

Gene, more you work with thie settings and images, more you will control the filter and find a variety of textures. I worked a lot on this filter before upload it. And I have not finish yet to discover all it will give. Do not worry, the images you created with it are nice for me. Ah... reducing the pixels with this filter does not give good enought results.
