Amazing! I've been trying to achieve this for a while too. Excellent results!

Ok, I'm even more impressed (and a little depressed) now that I look at your node construction. For the grass filter I was working on I came up with an almost identical set up to yours (for the grass, not the 3d dirt, which I think you should publish as a separate filter since its nicer than many others that are out there so far). I was hung up on the part where I was trying to combine the shadows with the grass blades *before* the bomber, and it just wasn't working. I love how you blended the shadows with the ground (duh!) and then combined the bombers. I was sooo close. Kudos again to you, and thank you so much for sharing!

Lareieli, I remember playing with shadows with your leaf pile filter. In my previous version of the grass, I had the shadows set up like how you describe (before the bomber), but the new way makes more sense (though I think it's slower). And if you haven't seen it, I submitted the dirt as a separate filter.
If you make a breakthrough with your grass filter, we'd love to see it. |

You rock! Yes, I was glad to see you submitted the dirt filter too. You're right, your way makes more sense and fixes up a host of issues my approach was creating. I'll let you know here if I do get mine up and running enough to submit, but I'm thrilled with yours
