Description
You can use a fake smoke generator or use a source image to make the spokes of the wheel but it's more fun to photograph some real smoke and use that instead.If using a real image it works best if you have a white background and the smoke is positioned in a square image like the hour hand of a clock pointing at 12 i.e. radiating from the centre straight upwards. if you search flickr for "smoke wheel" you will find further examples to inspire you.
