About This Filter

Description
The filter can be used for generating a painting-like effect composed of small circular or square dots. The name of the filter is curious and it may be good to explain the reason. This filter is composed of two main parts: tiles used as a brush for painting, and gradients used to set the position of the tiles. The tiles are not complete and they looked to me as the windows of a building in the night (when the light of some room is on an some is off). The gradients, if not wisely used to set the position of the tiles, may completely ruin the effect, "killing" the tiles. That's the reason of the weird name.
