Description
Hardline Cut Separation is a convenience derivative of Hardline Cut (details below) that creates cyan, magenta and yellow separations (and a full colour reference) of a colour image using Hardline Cut. The separations are half resolution of the original image.The Cyan separation is at the upper left, Magenta upper right, Yellow lower right, and reference lower left. Changing Coarseness or Texture necessitates a lot of recalculation, whilst changing Contrast and Brightness is relatively lightweight. Hardline Cut is a black/white threshlolding filter that emulates a range of traditional carved surface techniques such as engraving, linocut and woodblock. Key to the authenticity of the result is the use of the image’s own high frequency data as the mask.Texture adjusts how much of the midtones are carved, and Coarseness how thick the carving lines are. Brightness and Contrast are convenience options — use them to find the right balance of light and darkness.
