Description
Please note, this filter will not generate a normal map, it is for flipping one or more dimensions of a normal map that you open into it.This filter flips the directional components of a normal map. I made this as I found that most normal maps in filterforge actually render inverted in some engines such as unity. You can test this by moving a light around in your 3d Scene and checking what "side" of a detail (such as a brick) is lit up (it should be the edge facing the light).Extra Info:The way normal maps work is that each RGB channel of the image represents a dimension of the surface for the texture.The red and green channels represent the X and Y surface and the blue channel represents the 3rd dimension which is depth, (effectively a hightmap/depthmap).This filter effectively just inverts 1 or more of these channels. each flipping the data of the respective dimension and as such the directions of the shadows.:)
