Description
This filter allows you to generate spheres that are suitable for use as matcaps. You can simply use all the built in lighting and surface functionality that Filter Forge offers to light the sphere, in addition to the filters controls.Matcaps are great for 3D sculpting and for cheap realtime rendering.http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/materials-lights-rendering/materials/matcap/matcap-basics/http://www.blendtuts.com/matcaps_in_blenderInspired by truman's "spheresgenerator", this filter takes a slightly different approach, using elipses instead of frame components. Also, this filter adds the optional ability to give the spheres a bumpy surface with some simple perlin noise. This filter is optimized for matcaps by making the sphere just slightly larger than the bounds of the image in order to avoid any artifacts that can be caused by the edge of the sphere getting rendered on your model.
