Description

This is a mathematical approximation on the Technicolor Process 4, also known as 3 Strip that was used on timeless classics like The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, Robin Hood. This is the Technicolor version from the Martin Scorsese's film "The Aviator" (2004) which recreates the classic look. The original 3d Lut was created for the film by Joshua Pines of Technicolor SA. It took me some time to figure out the math behind it. You have controls over the extracted channel mattes; use at your own liking to pump up dat saturation :) I have changed the default value for the green matte because I found that using on my tests, it was too muted. I am also working on a different version of 3 Strip that tries to get closer to the original process by using a new green channel with 50% density as the “receiver”. I hope you like it and enjoy it. Thank you.
