Description
This filter will fix overall blotchy skin tone without blurring by addressing the darker areas of the skin. Use alone for any portrait, or in combination with "Smooth Baby Skintone" filter to perfect infant portraits with problem skin. Start with crazy hue/sat/lightness settings- like bright green- to visualize the size and location of the patches you want to adjust. You'll need to mask out the shadow areas of the photo, so you don't fix parts that don't need fixing. Once you've got your problem areas highlighted, you can reset the hue, saturation, and lightness values to 50 each, to get back to your original photo. At this point, slight changes in the hue, saturation, and lightness values will smooth out the tone of the skin. When you're done, adjust your master opacity to keep it looking realistic. For best results, use the edited photo on a new layer in Photoshop over the original, mask the whole thing out, and paint in the areas you want to smooth the skin.
