Description
As amazing as this software is, it can take a little time to get into the swing of things. I think I'm getting the hang of it, at least from a mathematical point of view, so I am trying to create some simple filters that can be studied by others and used as they think appropriate.This is a simple smoke filter, but even in its simplicity it can be useful. And obviously adapted to your own needs. There are essentially three parts to the filter.First, the smoke itself is set up as a greyscale Perlin Noise map, then a user-controlled Threshold processor is applied. This is then turned into a transparency map.Secondly, this transparency map is blended with the desired colour of the smoke itself.Finally the transparent smoke is blended onto the original image, creating a smoky overlay for the final result.I hope people can learn from this filter, adapt it to their own needs and most of all that it is useful.Take care, and carry on creating.
