As a beginner myself, sometimes I find it quite daunting to start a new filter, so I thought I would attempt at making some basic filters that are both functional and educational. I hope I've succeeded.This filter creates fire! You can control the colour by the Fire Inner Colour and Fire Outer Colour settings, and the variation of the fire by Chaos!There are three parts to the filter, though they do overlap so may not be quite as easy to understand as I hoped.First there's the outline of the fire, which is controlled by two gradients and a noise generator to make the overall shape more random.Secondly there's the fire colour. This involves plugging two colours into a Cell processor, with some variation and stretching.Thirdly, and related to the fire colour, is the smoke colour. I haven't allowed the user to control the colour of the smoke, for fear of having so many controls the user feels overwhelmed.I hope this is useful to someone. Take care :D
