Description
My first filter ... I've been looking for something to create quick paint effects for my photographs, primarily a paint wash with inked lines. This filter basically uses the edge extraction to create the sketchy “lines” which are then overlayed on to the original image which has been tweaked by applying a bump map to it. The Edge Controls make changes to the sketchy line overlay. Edge Radius effects the width of the line Edge Amplitude helps the formula find edges. Use higher numbers for images with low contrast. Edge Formula determines the algorithm used to find the edge. 1 is Sobel, 2 is Roberts, 3 is Gradient. Edge Uniformity determines the quality of the edge (line). 1 is None, 2 is Coarse, 3 is Fine. Edge Alpha Channel is the method for calculating the alpha channel for the edge (line) output. Bump Map controls make changes to the background image. Best just to experiment with these controls.
