With Filter Forge 8 working with multiple images and filters has become so much easier! With independent tabs, you can load any image or filter into each tab and compare them or fine-tune their settings.
Essentially you now have multiple Filter Forge copies under one hood. Previously, you could only render one filter at a time, and browsing through the filter list invariably restarted rendering. The new version changes everything: you can pick out a filter to render, then open a new tab to select a different filter or a different mage, and the first tab will still continue rendering.
Tabs work a bit differently when you use Filter Forge as a plug-in: all your tabs will contain the same image or selection from the host. It is useful for comparing different effects applied to the same image.
To help you track rendering progress every tab has a live thumbnail that reflects its rendering preview and updates in real time.
All relevant menu commands, like Open Image, Copy Image or Preview Size, now only affect the current tab.
Now that you can have a number of tabbed images, they are rendered sequentially in the background, from left to right, with a few noticeable exceptions: the render manager always gives top priority to the current tab you’re looking at.
