Default Component Values

One of our most popular feature requests from filter authors was to allow to customize default values for all parameters of a component in Filter Editor. To many users, our 'factory default' parameter values for some components look a little weird. We selected these values for demonstrating the abilities of a component to new users who see it for the first time, not for everyday work of experienced filter authors – which, understandably, was an inconvenience for them.

Starting with Filter Forge 5.0, the rightclick menu of a component offers two new commands which allow you to Save Default Values for a particular component, and Reset Default Values to revert the saved defaults of a component back to factory settings:

This is really a fantastic piece of software, I highly recommend everyone checking it out if you're into pattern/texture map creation.

“I'm thinking Filter Forge should come with a warning: 'This Product could be Habit Forming'.”
