There are 12238 filters available in the online filter library. Though you can freely download them from the website, we also offer an archive of all library filters at a specific date in a single file – a convenient way to load all filters at once into your copy of Filter Forge.
Top reasons to get a Filter Library Backup:
The recommended option is a package containing Filter Library Backup with Librarian – an interactive filter browser that simplifies import of filters into Filter Forge. It allows you to preview filters and select specific filters to be installed into Filter Forge. Librarian will automate filter installation (you won't need to copy any files manually); it also generates filter caches for Filter Forge. Librarian is a standalone program that is installed separately and doesn't run simultaneously with Filter Forge.
Note that Librarian requires a Library Backup license to operate. If you don't have a Library Backup you need to order both products.
If you choose to get a Filter Library Backup without Librarian you will receive a ZIP archive of all library filters. You will need to unpack it and copy its contents to the folder that stores filters on your computer. This option doesn't allow you to select specific filters for import, so you will end up with over 10,000 filters loaded into your Filter Forge. Since there are no caches in the ZIP archive, Filter Forge may take a bit longer to start while processing the newly-added filters.
Being an archive, Filter Library Backup doesn't have any update functions. Both Filter Library Backup and Librarian are linked to a specific Filter Forge version, for example, Filter Forge 7.0 won't accept filters from Librarian 6.0.
If you want to receive an updated filter archive each time we release a new Filter Forge version, you may be interested in the lifetime upgrade license for a one-time fee that covers all future Filter Forge versions. Lifetime upgrades for Filter Library Backup and Librarian are available on request.
This is really a fantastic piece of software, I highly recommend everyone checking it out if you're into pattern/texture map creation.
“Chief among my pleasures is Filter Forge, which I've been ranting (positively) and raving (voraciously) about ever since it entered my life.”

“For 3D modelers, Filter Forge is a dream come true. It creates seamless textures with a single mouse click. The professional version creates the following map types for any texture: bump, normal, specular strength, specular exponent, diffuse, metallic, and alpha. The same filter can be used to generate any resolution, since filters are procedural.”
