rant/ I´m kinda disappointed that this STILL hasn´t been fixed! smile:evil:

Everytime I want to render out a texture bigger than 2k, I have to do it from inside Photoshop, which means that I can´t do anything else until it´s done. And depending on the filter speed and image resolution that can take a while smile:p

I don´t know if it works with Gimp, never tried since I hate it, but you can´t really expect ppl to buy extra software in order to get a fully functional FilterForge.
And maybe you should mention in your advertisement that the standalone can´t render huge resolutions so that ppl don´t feel cheated./rant over

I love FF, but this really needs to be fixed smile:-)

Actually there are free image editors with .8bf support, for example Photobie.

I agree with you Sharandra

Bad allocation error go away!

I hope and wish that This can be solved before the final version of FF 4.0 and will not keep another year waiting for the fix as it has happened with FF 3.0.

I know that this may be a difficult and complex thing to fix but I think is a very important one, and although this can be easily fixed by using FF as a plugin, there are sometimes that you do not want to it to use it like this.

YES; I love FF too, but this is something that needs to be fixed and it has been a LONG time since they are already working on it.

This one is absolutely killing me. I almost work exclusively with 4k x 4k textures and this bug is really making it near impossible to use the program without Photoshop. I'd certainly much rather skip using PS because it locks-up my PC for an hour every time I try to get it to render a large FF texture. PLEASE give us some official feedback on this bug FF team.

YES! Is true, it happens the same to me, I work with results higher than 4000 pixels (which really is NOT a very high resolution) and is true that you get many errors and problems IF you do not use FF as a plugin and makes it a nightmare instead of a pleasure.

I have tried to help the FF team to solve this in the way to put a thread with all the error reports from the FF users, but no one has put any bug report there

High resolution rendering test bug report compilation inside here

Also see this other threads for more information about this and that there are some information to solve this in some way temporaly meanwhile they fix it:

9 MONTHS with this bug and still without a fix, solution or news (as put above this was before when the thread was done and now in this moment is 15 MONTHS instead of 9)

--> Please, MORE information class XFW:Kernel:StdException> bad allocation

Stable Rendering

RENDERING!!!

HUGE Resolutions = FAIL

Error when saving a 10,000 x 5,000 render

FF3 crashes frequently while long renders for big files

Yep, and I've found that it gets really bad when any of the blur type nodes are involved just as others have reported. If I put a single blur node anywhere in the chain it has that error 100% of the time (although it still does it without the blur nodes sometimes). This is a serious issue IMO.
