WOW!! WOOOW !!! This is really amazing, awesome, fantastic, beautiful and wonderful filter and is really very artistic and special, and very well done so that each little square chip taxes exactly the color of the background. And the great feature of making the paint chips in different size, you can put them very small and have millions of paint chips with ver high quality or put them big and have much less quality but get an special kind of abstract colors that are also lovely and amazing.

Excellent how the solid color background is absolutely transformed in an ocean of paint chips of that color!!!And the great random rotation of all of them, and although it seems that it could be chaotic, it is NOT, is perfectly done the distribution.

I thank you a million for this and is an excellent and very creative idea. Thanks, thanks ,thanks.

Love it very much. Very special and beautiful effects can be done with this using great color based photos !!!

Did I give you thanks for this ? smile:D Well I say it again, Thanks really very much for having had this idea, and had the skills and expert knowledge of FF to make this possible and available sharing it here.

Here below I put and example made with preset 5 and nothing else touched.

And now with millions of tiny "paint chips" changing in the defaul preset setting ONLY the size pixels to 245 (much smaller) and gives much details BUT MUST BE SEEN really in high resolution (about 3000 x 4500) to be able to see the real beauty, and the real complex and wonderful texture made by this great filter

This is the same setting of 245 sixe pixel photo as above but now enlarged at a bigger resolution to see more detail.

Is really amazing how many different color "paint chips" can the filter make using the base colors and creates an excellent textures resuming and taking the most important tones and uniform them toghether. Awesome.

Now is perfect as it is already and the only thing that I think that would like to have in this filter, if it would be possible is that there could be an option and activate a different sizes paint chips options :

1 - perhaps depending on color background so if it was solid white would be greater and near edge where have more color would be smaller

2 - Random selection of different variable sizes instead of having all of them at the same size, WITHOUT any care of what color is on the background.

3 - Rotate randomly the paint chips of all the same size in different ways.

BUT, this are just suggestion and ideas I have in this moment and do not know if it is possible to make, anyway as it is now is excellent.

b15fliptop I want to tell you that you can´t judge and know how many people likes your filter ONLY COUNTING THE THANKS POSTS that are in this thread, because this would be totally untrue, because many users that could like it much also will not send a thank you here in the forum.

Your filter has been downloaded until today 220 times, so there could many more that like it than the ones that have posted here. You do NOT need to be registered in the FF website to be able to download filters, AND you are required to be registered and log in to be able to write in the forum.

So waht would be good probably is to have something like a "like" button inside filter forge in each of the filter that you have in your library and then FF when sends the Usage Stadistics, could also send the filters that have been "liked" or choosen as good and show this in the website in the filter´s page.

So please, do not feel that only a very few persons can like you amazing and lovely work because is not really true, you do not know it measuring the comments here.

Of course I encourage you to continue making more filters, that if others are as good as this one, you are a great author and filter maker !!!

SUGGESTION IDEA - CONFETTI PAPER FILTER

I have thought that probably it could be possible to make a variation to this excellent filter and would be to change the shape of the square paint chips, and make another similar filter with round circular chips, and it could be like conffetti, so you could have exactly the same effect as shown here but all round chips instead, and could look also beautiful.

And perhaps if you go beyond this, you could even change the square chips into triangles, or rectangles.

Here is a bad example of confetti texture, if it would be done by your filter it wuld look surely much better as with your filter DEPENDS and is based on the source image you choose.

MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORDINARY CONFETTI AND CONFETTI THAT COULD BE MADE BY YOUR FILTER

All the confetti you can see in any photo is always with mixing colors in a very random way and without any kind of order or organization, and does not follow any pattern.

With your filter it could be done that you could choose how you want the confetti to show and in wich way choosing very well the source base image to get the effect you want.

And all this is by JUST ONLY changing the square to circular shape size of this same filter here.

Ans furthermore also other possible shapes could be possible to make confetti.

Here is a very small example of what could be triangular confetti

And why ot have also lovely heart shaped confetti ? smile:)

Or even beautiful STAR SHAPED confetti

This filter allows to change circles to squares, fix the size of each particle separatly, change color of dots, etc. By playing with controls, you can fix density, etc. Maybe tomorrow morning this filter could be in the filter library.

I wonder why will you create your first filter smile:?:

Is very good that you made a confetti filter and looks very nice fr om the example you have put, BUT there is one problem with your filter and what I suggested above

One question ? Does this mean that all the dots are generated exclusively by FF ? without any source base image reference as this paint chip filter does ?

Ok, is very good that you can change and modify the shapes, sizes, colors, etc. BUT can you how the particles are distributed, organized and ordered based on a source image given ? think not, your filter would be very beautiful to make usual confetti paper and wh ere you do not have any control of how the nulticolored dots will be distributed.

Please read again what I have put about the main difference between normal confetti pattern and would be possible to get if this "paint chips" filter could be converted to confetti maker

Do not get me wrong, I have nothing against normal confetti filter, that you have no control on how the distribution of the dots works, and with this "paint chips" filter could really have a great control if you prepare very well the base image as a source, so it can´t be compared, as they are different this.

Ghislaine, Please, I think that you should move all this beautiful and nice examples to your own thread of this filter so people could really see what it can do, and so is not mixed and overlaid with another very different filter that is the paint chips.

This threads belongs to the Paint chips and now you can´t know if the comments are for the paint chips filters or yours, please it would be good that you move them to your thread that is now available. Thanks very much.

Sorry if my comments about the "confetti filter" have made you put this here, but I did this only suggesting to change to shapes of paint chips filter and not to make a NEW one.

I think that perhaps it would be better for the FF team or moderators that you put a new thread on the "General Discussion" asking to delete this posts here as they probably will not see your note here, and also to delete after that thread that you have put this.

Sorry, I told you it was possible to modifiy, but I was wrong, it can ONLY be modified the last post of each thread.

Now that I have began learning about how to work with the filter editor, and start to understand what the components do and how to modify or add things, I have found a great thing inside this great filter.

Sometime ago I asked if it could be possible to make a Confetti version of this filter with rounded paint chips instead of square ones

Well, I have found that you can change the square shape into a circular shapes VERY EASILY. smile:) You only have to find the "Free Rectangle" component and change inside the settings.

To convert the square to a circular shape you ONLY need to change the "Corners" settings to 90 or 100.

Please the below screenshot

Here are some examples of what I have done ONLY by changing the setting in the Free Rectangle component shown above

This is the confetti style circle. I Changed the Corners to 100 and Bevel width to 30

But there is more to customize and change

After this one above, after changing the corners and bevel width, I ALSO changed the Bevel (at the very end) drop down menu to "contour" and then changed the settings of X Y and I got beautiful rings smile:D

Here is the result below

And what would happen if to the above settings you put "Corners" to zero value again ?

Well, you get LOTS of tiny square frames smile:D as seen below

And if you think that the frames are too small, keeping all the previous settings, you can make them bigger changing and modifying the X Y values and so you get bigger frames as seen below smile:D

If you want to USE this settings inside Filter forge as a filter, you must save the filter with those settings (it will be saved to the "my filters" folder) and then you can use the new configuration.

If you do not want to go each time to the filter editor to change the Free rectangle settings there is a much better way to have the settings available INSIDE Filter Forge settings tab for to customize it as you want.

This is done by adding settings controls to the "Free Rectangle" component as shown below.

It is very important to keep at the beginning the values I have put below in the screenshot for it to work right, after putting this settings, you can begin to modify them as you want.

Please see the screenshot below

So then after adding all this Slider controls you will have inside Filter Forge in the settings tab all the "free rectangle" component setting available in a very easy way WITHOUT having to go the Filter Editor.

Here is the NEW settings tab for the Paint Chips filter

If b15fliptop allows it I can upload the modified filter here.

BUT there is a very bad problem here for him. If you use the new modified filter, b15fliptop WILL NOT GET any usage stats for his filter, and all usage stats will be LOST because this new filter will be inside your "my filters" folder and do not belong anymore to the FF library, and so all his work will not get any reward for his hard work.

So I think that the best is that b15fliptop makes it himself and submit again to the FF library

PLEASE B15FLIPTOP if you want and like to do it, I would suggest to add this slider controls I have suggested above and submit again the filter to the FF library, and so you will keep getting the usage rank and counting for a possible HU reward.

In the previous page of this thread I suggested to have also star shaped confett as shown on this photo here (please click over the image to see it much bigger)

And after having experimented with square and circles, I knew I could also go beyond and change to a totally different shape, and I was not wrong as FF has the FREE POLYGON component also, and so if you replace the Free rectangle component with this Free polygon you have many more shapes, and one of them is stars !!!
