Please if you want to try for the missing cubes, as shown in the last 3 post of the previous page, this is the filter made by uberzev

The mask is made from the source color control

As yu have said, Here I go with my destruction of cubes smile:D

This is my great "success" smile;) in making a mask for the Cuberism Mapped

I think I have made a new filter for making abstract art from triangular photo shapes smile:D

I have put 4 examples into one screenshot

I think I should spend the time and make things that I CAN DO and not continue on things that really I do not know what I doing, getting unexpected results and making things by trial and error

As said I will not continue trying to make this filter, I think that is better for me to make the cubes with your original version posted on the first post of your own thread of the Cuberism Mapped and then cut the unwanted cubes in Photoshop that is a thing I can do and is possible, and faster than trying to make this.

And for the others I will use the previous simplified version without the masking that works very well the masking and the fill or missing cubes

Thanks very much for all your help and for making this filter

Here is my wrongly final version that is badly done

I have made many other tests and tried many other ways than the one that is shown on this filter and also have tried some of the other possible solutions available in others filters with missing tiles available already in the library here

Nice job skybase, I was too lazy to make that for SR.

PS, You may want to "Threshold" the lifesaver's transparency because there are some semi transparent cubes that look a bit odd. smile:)

well ok, I did hold till SpaceRay had something but it seems to have hit a dead end.

I think SpaceRay thought too hard on this one smile:p cause the answers were there and in fact I thought he had the answer sometime earlier.

YES !!!
It looks very good and you have done it right
smile:ff: smile:loveff:

You of course know much better how to make filters and you are an expert filter forger smile:hammer:

I am sorry that I have not been able to make it myself, I could in fact solve in some way (although not perfect like uberzev have done) the problem in the simpler version of the cuberism simple colored cubes, but NOT on this one smile:(

Thanks really very much for taking the time for making this for me and sharing it here and also your knowledge to solve this problem

I have seen the inside of it to see HOW you have done it and is very well done, as you I was close to it in some other experiments I have done that I did not show and I have already tried to make something similar but surely in the wrong way.

Again thanks much for making this very well done and that works very good and exactly in the way I wanted.

Can I say I love you and the way you have done this ? smile:) smile:loveff:

Also perhaps you may wondering why I wanted to have this with masks and "missing cubes"?

Well I have one idea in mind to make layers of cubes in different ways and apply shadows and effects in between the layers. I will give some examples later.

I have seen that this ONLY works right and the settings work as they should if the image is SQUARE, because if the source image and background is non square then the settings go wild and work in a weird way (with or without image masking)

BUT this is really not important at all as I can use this perfectly without the background and add it later in Photoshop.

After making the modification of the awesome 3D image cube of ThreeDee as shown here in this thread I remembered now that there was long time ago a 3 images cube that you could not rotate but you could stack them and have lots of them together, and is this thread here

I thanks again very much to Uberzev and Skybase to make it possible

By the way, is a pity and a great loss that uberzev is not anymore here on the forum

Want to give a huge thanks to uberzev for all the help he gave when I was trying to make this filter better and also for making the final Cuberism filter that makes what I was looking for.

Also of course to Skybase, that helped it much to fix it and give his expert advice

And I have just now after many years, I have discovered much more ideas and things to be done with this filter as shown here

[C]uberism Mapped by uberzev

Well, more exactly, the new 2020 ideas start here
