thanks smile:) i like that too. the filter just needs to be cut down in the number of effects.

well, that's why i suggested you might be able to do this, what you wanted to do, in psp. not sure i can pull it off.

It would be nice if some of the suggestions for implimenting 3D into FF, for filter making purpuses only of course, I'd love to see something like this. So far, the closest I've actually seen as far as depth, Craig... and I've tried to find a filter to do this, even tried to make my own too. This is great looking... hope it comes together for you eventually smile;)

I only have PSP 7 so it's quite limited. But I can always go find Redfield's filter again and see if I can get what I want. It's just nicer to be able to make it ALL happen inside of FF. Would love to toss out all the 'junky' filters I have in that thing now.

well, this one is very old, like back to something like the 3rd beta version. i just shelved it hoping for some help in the way of lighting or 3d. i might actually toy with it again if you think it has merit.

yeah, psp 7 doesnt have the warp brush or warp mesh. but, i'm pretty sure it has some distortion filters, things like 'pinch' and 'warp'. one of those can balloon an area of an image. if you positioned it right between the drapes... but yes, would be nice to have in FF.

and thinking of the warp filter, i wonder if one could localize a zoom in FF. that might work. i'll bet volde could do it.

and btw, this isnt just my thread. anyone can post stuff here *hint*

this is also from 'distortion tortion' and you can see now where it got it's name. i dont recall if i started this before or after rubber faces.

Sure! I can and will use it often. Reminds me of Mercury Man... or whatever he was called, that guy who chased after Terminator in the 3rd movie.

it's been a long time since i posted anything from "multi-switch". this used to be my favorite 'multi' filter. 'the monster' probably is now, but 'multi-switch' was my first, what i would consider, successful multi filter.

this pic is from that. i kinda like it smile:) the pattern is based on the original, imported image.

hehe, yes, i was surprised by this filter. (is it zero filters or xero? i can never remember). this is one of those i started a long while back and abandoned, more or less. i've been going through these lately to see what can be resurrected. i think i could pull just that part of it out of the overall and make this effect. i'll look.

1000 times better, eh? boy, i shld do this for a living then smile:) (you're such a flatterer, jean. i love it; i just dont believe it smile:D (though i do think this is a good image))

and thanks smile:)

yes, carl, i agree. masking is tough to control in FF. and yes, that image would have been better for it.

I know... how about adding a little blur to the water, maybe even a little misty blur rising up around the water where it is falling!?!
If I were going to paint something like this that's what I might have done.

hmmm, it does have water spraying. be more specific? how could a misty blur be...hmmm, i think i know what you're talking about. i think i could add that.

you want the blur on the water on the pool or on the falls or both? either shld be easy to add.

I was just remembering how some of the falls up in Oregon looked when they came down... there was a big plume of misty water rising up from the impact of the falls contact with the pool below... and the falls themselves had a much softer look as the spray through it softened the look of the streaks.

Here's a link to a pic from one of my favorite sites:

I'm just sharing my thoughts though, Craig. You have to be happy with what you create, and I still like it smile:D

ah, you like the blur of both. ok, that's fairly typical of photos since they arent always taken at a faster film speed, so the waters get blurred. that's cool. i shld be able to do that.

and dont worry, i do these for the 'audience'. so, if the audience wants 'blur' i usually try to do 'blur' smile:)

I go to Photo.net all the time for inspiration, but never touch their work to use here. Free photos can be found all over the web. Would love to be able to get out and about so I could start taking my own again.. I miss that, and tromping about in the wilderness looking for something to paint or sketch... oh my...

ah, paint and sketch. you mentioned painting before. now, that's something i just cant do. i'm a stick figure person. i can 'paint' with existing pictures or cut and paste pictures on a computer, but painting and drawing is just a skill that has always eluded me. i do practice once in a while, but only if i can find a very quiet, dark, and extremely secretive place to do it so that no one will ever see.

Ohhh, I like this much better, Craig!
Maybe the spray could billow up and away towards the onlooker to give it some depth. If it was moving forward towards us it would give that dimension that it was spraying forward I think smile:)

Well, I've put up 2 of my own paintings right here in the Comments forum, but guess no one saw them. Did that late last night I think smile:-p
