Suggest an Auto Save/Backup function incorporated into the program...to save backups of all filters to a user-defined location outside of the FF program folders...
Many users are not computer-savy...filters are hidden by default...loosing all your filters on an install or corruption is a complete catastrophy...something goes wrong in the construction of a filter, you can go back to a time interval backup and not loose all your work...FF burried with questions about this all the time...etc, etc, etc....enough said... YES, this is a very good idea, and is true that now it must be done manually and as is not easy for those new on computers, it would be a very good thing.
It is true that although it can be "easy" to make for someones, it is really complicated as you have already described and there seems to be many people that do not really know HOW to make a backup of the filters and that is why I wanted to make this two threads to help them Guide to how to backup your FF filters library fr om your hard drive http://filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=8910 and Where are the downloaded Filter Forge filters located physically? http://filterforge.com/forum/read.php?FID=5&TID=9049 As seen in the above threads is not a very easy thing to do if you do not know much, so it would be a very good thing that there could be a option inside the filter forge that you could choose and make the backup wh erever you wanted. |
