I would like my images zoomed to the window extents... Currently, you can only have either a small image or one with the edges cut off... Pretty standard feature for any graphics program...

Yes, I agree with you Steve, It is true that I would also love that FF could zoom the preview to fill ALL the available screen, and not have just a 600x600 reduced preview or a 100% real size resolution where you can see only a part of the image.
This is a feature that EVEN Microsoft Paint have, and nearly every normal and standard graphic program have already, at least in 2011.
Probably the problem is that FF is NOT a normal graphics program and do NOT USE graphic photos or images as any other program, and I think that the problem is that the image needs to be RENDERED in some way for it to be previewed, BUT the same that they have made the new faster Preview, could also make it that the preview could zoom to fill the full width of the screen available or zoom to fit all the available screen and be able to see all the image inside the screen without using the very reduced 600x600 option.
